it's not a beginning of an intergalactic war or the epic battle between HP and OWMNBN (for those who did not get it, HP is Harry Potter ans OWMNBN is the One-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named). its the sinister exams creeping closer every day. and the effect is the same as always. somehow, no matter how many times u face exams and interviews, experience never seems to help cope with the horrifying week.
the battles have begun already. final submissions for the projects are going on right now. and i am writing this blog as a break from writing the OB report. Decisions........... Bah! Humbug!
Next week will be full of reports and presentations. Hopefully it will not be as tough as pre mid terms when i had almost no sleep for 5 days on the trot
PS: i won something in hell. finally! it was an accounting and eco quiz combined into a treasure hunt. a very interesting idea indeed. had a lot of fun running around campus from one hostel to another for the next questions.....

A fruitfull day
today, i faced something i had been dreading for quite some time. something that would have made Harry Potter pretty happy to get away with just dueling with the Dark Lord. Its the most sinister thing the profs could have though of. And they seemed quite pleased with the situation. well, so i explain the immense task that lay ahead of me.
I woke up this morning, with a sharp pain in the scar on my forehead. Wait! that was still the dream. Ah well........coming back to the issue, as soon as i woke up, the clock showing 8:40 a.m., a sudden dread came upon me. i could almost feel the dementors prowling in the vicinity. now this is not the dream any more. dementors here are not the hooded and walking 5" above the ground ala HP, they are creatures much more powerful, dark and dangerous! A mere dementor or even a hoard of them are no match! their most powerful attack is a Quiz! and i had to face one in just under 15 min. pulling out my wand (that will be the mere pen for a muggle), and getting ready as soon as humanly possible, i raced to meet my fate. With utter lack of fear, mostly because of the lack of sleep and almost no food for the past quite some hours, i faced the Quiz with all my might. And now looking back, i can say i am pretty satisfied how it all unfolded. but i will spare u from the details for now.
my joy at finishing off one Quiz was short-lived. I soon realised the mega plan of the Dementors. There were not One, not Two, not Three, not Fo.... actually it was Four Quizzes planned for the day!! phew. Imagine my plight!
but having faced one Quiz, I was high on confidence, and somehow looking forward to the rest of the Quizzes. But just then it happened. It started raining! And the simple effect was to deprive me of my lunch. having already missed my breakfast, that was a real blow.
But then, i ought be used to such a situation. And so i was!
Next was a Quiz that almost came as a shock. One question and i had no idea what to do. somehow managed to come up with a decent looking solution with which the prof should be pretty much happy. atleast to give me half the credits, if not more.
The third Quiz takes the cake. 40 Questoins. 10 Minutes. Do the maths and its 15 seconds per question. even CAT had more time per question. waded through some how. scoring 31+,9-
the last quiz was the easiest. my forte, if i may say so. was one of the firsts to finish off the Quiz and be out of the hall. Freedom beckoned!
Now, Four Quizzes down, i feel like i can take on anyone/anything
Till the Quiz marks come out that is.
:)

week after the mid terms
its been a full week since the mid terms are over and i have not touched the books at all. but some new developments may just tilt the balance in favour of books.
first, seniors kick-started Disha, initiative to ensure PGP1's have some substance to show in the summer's interviews and all. makes me wonder.......were we so bad in the committee intv/presentations that they had to take this step? maybe. considering the trouble they were having in deciding about the final shortlists. and while i'm on the topic of final shortlists, i got kicked out of the process of both the committees. SigFi and AlCom. Ah, well......
OK. something positive also happened today. Sec. A got the MANAC mid term papers back. and guess what? i score 21/35. now for those who are not aware of this course, let me set the background. its one of the most feared courses on campus. so much so that the seniors took extra sessions before the mid terms to make sure we dont perform like their batch. and the sections A and C are blessed by the one-who-must-not-be-named (no. not live voldemort. more like Snape)
anyhow. after the debacle on the committees front, natural move will be to put a few hours more on studies. but then i have still to read HP7, play NFS Carbon and CS, so many movies on DC, write my blog........
